Seven dead in collision between van and truck on R101

LIMPOPO –  Seven people were killed after two vehicle collided along R101 road between Pienaarsrivier and Ga-Maubane off-ramp last night (Saturday).

According to a statement isued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that a truck travelling direction South to North and a  van travelling in the opposite direction collided head-on.

The seven passengers travelling in the van died instantly and only the driver survived with serious injuries. The two passengers travelling in the truck were uninjured.

A case of culpable homicide was opened by the Pienaarsrivier Police.

The cause of accident is still unknown and police investigations continue.
