Dance duo makes Lim proud
Jack Mawasha and partner Tshidi Motsai recently took part in the ‘Province Dance Off’ competition and placed third
POLOKWANE – Jack Mawasha and partner Tshidi Motsai danced their hearts out last week Saturday in the ‘Province Dance Off’ competition, hosted in Turfloop Polokwane.
They competed against different dance clubs around the country and placed third overall. The duo say they are happy with their efforts and are sure they made JAMA Dance Studio proud. “We do not only compete in Polokwane, we travel around the world competing against other dance clubs. This time, the competition came to our home town,” Jack said.
According to Jack, they often have to travel to other provinces to compete as not many events are hosted in Limpopo which he believes is not fair.
“As a ballroom dance coach, I take every dance competition very seriously,” he continued.
“Dance is one of the key means of expression and has been practiced for millennia. Be it classical, rock, ballroom, contemporary or even hip hop, dance is always a huge success. It offers endless possibilities and can suit everyone’s taste. Alone, as a duo or in a group, dance is practiced by young and old”. He offered advice to aspiring dancers, stating if you love dancing, you shouldn’t be afraid to explore with different genres, types of music and always aspire to create new and original moves.
