59-year-old man attacked, killed & burnt near Mecklenburg

Police in Mecklenburg, outside Lebowakgomo, have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects.

LIMPOPO – It is alleged the deceased left his residential place this morning, at about 05:00 to go and attend to his routine matters at the nearby village.

Police Spokesperson, LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says the man’s body was found burnt to ashes along the road near Ga-Mphethi village outside Lebowakgomo. and police were notified.

“Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased’s house was burnt to ashes last year, November, by the community who accused him of being involved in the death of a 4-year-old boy, Revenge Mphethi, who had drowned,” says Ngoepe.

He says the motive behind this incident is still unknown and police investigations are still continuing.
