Career Day inspires women

The School of Surf Shine recently offered a free seminar for young women on how to make yourself known in the work place.

MOKOPANE – The School of Surf Shine has offered a free seminar for young women on how to make yourself known in the work place, the correct dress code and work etiquette for interviews.

The events company Matriarc execute a well planned event with a line of celebrities at The Park Hotel last Sunday.

Faria Gwabe a radio host for Capritalk from Zimbabwe, conveyed himself well as the master of ceremonies.

Two beautiful guests, Ramsy Tema and Venolia Mametja.

He kept the seminar lively and interact with the guests. Lungisa Soniqhe a personal brand, career and life coach gave the young women tips on how to be interview ready and on career planning.

Vika Shipalana, Prestige Channel Director of Pernod-Richard South Africa, who traveled the globe and who received Standard Bank’s Top Womens Award last year has spent most of her career in boardrooms and meetings where she has been the only black woman and sometimes the only woman.

MC Farai Gwabe interacts with the guest and kept the presentations alive and interesting.

It has taught her to be strong as a leader but to still remain a woman and her presentation to the ladies on how to dress appropriate in the workplace and that you can be a powerful women but still dress feminine was insightful.

Vuhlari and Mbali Mahlane from Mokopane told their inspiring story and motivated the guests. Vuhlari fell pregnant in Gr 10 and left school. When her daughter Mbali were born in 2007 with Tetra-amelia syndrome without arms, her boyfriend left her afther he learned about his daughter’s condition.

She did not have matric, were not employed or had any skills. Her daughter needed 24 hour care, but still today 10 years later Vuhlari completed her matric and last year achieved her degree in transport and logistics. Her message to the guests was, doesn’t matter what your circumstances are to never give up on your dreams or goals.

It was a phenomenal day and each and every lady learned something that she could take home and apply in her career or life.
