17 arrested as Lim SAPS continue the fight against drugs

Police say their operations focusing on drugs have yielded positive results

LIMPOPO – The suspects, aged between 25 and 47-years-old were arrested in different clusters for possession of various drugs.

In Polokwane, a 28-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of drugs worth R14 850.

The arrest led to the confiscation of:

– 297 rock drugs.

– R1 302 in cash.

In Bela-Bela, three suspects aged between 35 and 45-years-old were arrested for dealing and possession of drugs. During the arrest, the following were seized;

– 60 sachets of Nyaope, with an estimated street value of R3000.

– One stolen blue Toyota Corolla 16 valves GLS (registration number BWJ 528 L) worth R15 000.

– 3 small packages of CAT valued at R600.

– Cash to the value of R2 453.

In Tzaneen, three suspects aged 28 and 47-years-old were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and dagga.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the following items were recovered during the arrest:

– One 7.65 pistol.

– One magazine and one round of ammunition.

– 0,413kg of dagga with the street value of R3000.

– Crystal meth 59,059 g at the value of R17 175

Meanwhile in Groblersdal, one suspect (41) was arrested in Dennilton for possession of nyaope and dagga.

“During the arrest 34 sachets of nyaope and dagga, weighing 0,175g, were recovered,” Ngoepe said.

In Phalaborwa, Musina, Giyani, Hlanganani, Lephalale, Tubatse.and Lebowakgomo, 8 suspects aged between 25 and 42-years-old were arrested in possession of drugs where the following items were recovered:

– R700 cash.

– Dagga valued at R11 132.60.

– Two sachets of dagga valued R1 390, 10.

– Nyaope valued at R6500.

– One magazine with three rounds of ammunition

– 137,22g of dagga valued at R41 400.

– 20,07g of crystal meth valued at R6300.

Ngoepe says the arrested suspects will appear before different Magistrates Courts throughout the province, soon.

“These operations are ongoing and police investigations will continue,” he concluded.
