Brides- and grooms-to-be brought their friends, family and wedding parties to Meropa Casino and Entertainment World’s Wedding Expo on Saturday to meet service providers and get some tips on how to make their perfect day even more special.
Raksha Gunpath, Public Relations and Promotions Manager at Meropa, said the aim of the expo was for people to see what the banqueting team had to offer, take a look at the luxurious venue, introduce visitors to Meropa’s other entertainment options and to help brides plan their weddings.
“We gave away vouchers to our Wild Thingz, our bird and reptile park where we also host children’s parties, Harvest Wine and Grill, our gourmet restaurant, and the grand prize, a free wedding venue at Meropa,” she said.
Visitors also had the opportunity to taste the sweet offerings of Meropa’s top bakers with samples of deliciously delicate cupcakes, carrot cake, brownies and milk tart. The beauticians at Meropa’s Mangwanani Day Spa were also on hand to provide free massages and to explain the bridal beauty packages on offer at the spa.
The banqueting hall was lined with stalls where service providers could meet the prospective brides and inform them of what they had to offer. Photographers, wedding cake bakers, dress designers, wedding planners, function managers and florists turned the hall into a fairy tale and carefully dressed tables showed what could be done with a little bit of love and a lot of imagination.
Engaged couples Elzabe Jansen and Carel Erasmus as well as Kapari Teffo and Tebogo Moloto said they were impressed with the professionalism with which the expo was executed and that they picked up some very helpful contacts and tips.
