2 killed in mob killing on Rissik Street

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, says police.

POLOKWANE – The Saps Provincial Commissioner, LT. General Nneke Ledwaba, has condemned this as an act of vigilantism and a mob killing after two men, aged 29 and 30-years-old respectively, were allegedly kidnapped and brutally killed in Polokwane.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatse Ngoepe says the incident took place on Friday afternoon, 28 July, when a group of men travelling in combis went on the rampage and committed this heinous acts.

The men went looking for the two deceased and two other men. The men were accused of being involved in a series of criminal activities in and around the city.

Upon arriving at Rissik Streets, the accused began assaulting the four victims, killing two instantly.

“The other two men sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital for medical treatment after intervention by police, says Ngoepe.

No arrests have been made as the suspects are still unknown.
