School library torched in Hlanganani outside Giyani

Police have launched a manhunt for the group of suspects who torched the library of Akani High School.

LIMPOPO – Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the motive behind this incident is still unknown, however, there is a possibility that it is related to ongoing protest action by learners and the community.

The library was set on fire on Thursday night, 24 August.

Various school items including books and computers were destroyed and the estimated damage caused is approximately R100 000.
