Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the firearms were found buried in the yard of one of the suspects’ home.

“Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects might be connected to a series of farm attacks in the area and more arrests are expected,” Ngoepe said.

The suspects will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrates Court on Monday, 28 August, on various offences ranging from house robbery, to possession of unlicenced firearms and ammunition.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba says the discovery of these firearms and the arrests that were made, will go a long way in reducing the levels of crime, especially violent crimes.
