Boston City Campus & Business College Polokwane held a special tea party for female students at Pietersburg Laerskool last Wednesday as part of the college’s Women’s Day commemorations.
While the students enjoyed pretty cupcakes and other snacks, they had the opportunity to listen to motivational speaker Tukisho Serite who inspired the young women with her story.
Serite was born with cerebral palsy and, as result, is disabled. She spoke to the students about how she learnt to live with her disability and how she had to overcome obstacles to achieve her goals and become.
“I am a strong and hard working woman. Women are soft and strong at the same time. We must never underestimate the heights that women can reach if they set their minds to it,” she said.
“A woman can endure and overcome any obstacle. She has the strength that can amaze a man.” Serite said all women are heroes, because a hero is an ordinary individual who inspires others and overcome obstacles every day. “My disability has shown me the real abilities that I have. Never doubt yourself and don’t let anything stop you from reaching your full potential,” she told the students.
