A Grade 12 learner of Solomon Mhlangu High School in Modimolle is expected to appear in the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court in due course after he was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) following the alleged killing of a fellow learner.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe informed that two 19-year-old learners were reportedly gambling on the school premises yesterday (Wednesday) when a skirmish broke out. They were reportedly taken to the principal’s office to seek intervention but on their way back to class the one learners allegedly produced a sharp object and stabbed the other, fatally injuring him. According to Ngoepe the victim died instantly.
Police were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested.
Investigations continue.
