119 suspects arrested by Limpopo SAPS during operation

The suspects were arrested for a series of crimes ranging from robbery to drugs

LIMPOPO – The operation spanned over 36 policing areas and 119 suspects between the ages of 19 and 54-years old were arrested.

During this mass operation, the following items were recovered :

– 10 stolen cars of which four were reported stolen at Vosloorus in Gauteng, Kwaggafontein, Bayview and Musina.

– 19 firearms.

– Three rifles.

– 75 rifles and pistol ammunition.

– Three firearm magazines.

– 20 cell phones.

– R1641 in cash.

– Five computers, one laptop and four plasma TV’s.

– 219 sachets and four packets of drugs.

– 24 628 kg of dagga and dagga plants.

– A music system,

– 56 cartoons of fake cigarettes

– Other miscellaneous items

Meanwhile, in Makhado, police have launched a manhunt for suspects who fled on foot after a car chase with police.

The suspects were en-route to commit business robberies in the Nzhelele area, when police called for them to pull over.

“The suspects did not corporate and a motor vehicle chase ensued until their vehicle collided with a truck on the Sibasa road, outside Louis Trichardt. The suspects, however, fled on foot into a nearby farm and disappeared,” Ngoepe explained.

The suspects’ car was thoroughly searched and the following items were recovered:

– Two pistols.

– 20 rounds of ammunition.

– Two magazines.

– Two pairs of black handgloves and one balaclava.

Ngoepe says the suspects arrested during these operations will be appearing in different Magistrates Courts, soon, throughout the province.

Provincial Commissioner Lt General Nneke Ledwaba has commended this ‘giant crime fighting operation’ on a job well done.

The General has further assured the citizens of Limpopo a safe, secure environment, as long as they continue to support the police unconditionally through the continuous supply of the quality and reliable informatiom about any form of criminalities in and around their areas.
