LIMPOPO – The Thohoyandou Police are investigating the burning of five shops during a fire on Sunday evening, says the police.
According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, a passerby allegedly noticed the flames at the Mutsindo Complex next to a popular chain store and summoned the police and emergency services.
“The firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames with no success and a total of five shops with everything inside were gutted,” said Ngoepe.
The estimated damage caused by this fire is over R2 million, he added.
“The cause of this fire is still unknown but police and forensic investigations continue.
