The public has voted and the top five couples of Mall of the North and Polokwane Observer’s Win a Wedding competition has been chosen.
The five couples have to be at Mall of the North’s Bridal Expo fashion show on 7 October where they will be introduced to the public, play a fun game to see how well they know each other and answer the judges’ question.
There are prizes up for grabs for the winning couple as well as the four couples who made it to the finals. Should a couple not be at the fashion show, they will be disqualified.
Shaun Coetzer and Estelle van Rooyen
Shaun and Estelle met with the help of a mutual friend who introduced them to each other at a social event. Estelle says Shaun’s gentle nature, sense of humour and always putting others needs before his own caught her attention, while her sparkling blue eyes, bubbly personality and contagious laugh attracted him to her.
Estelle says Shaun’s best quality is his positive attitude. “He always puts a smile on other people’s faces and makes me feel like a princess.” Shaun loves Estelle’s caring nature. “She leaves deep footprints of the hearts of every person she meets,” he says.
The couple’s perfect wedding would be a fun and memorable evening lighted up with tons of fairy lights, listening to the laughter of friends and family as they celebrate their new venture together.
“Dreams will be built on love and respect, making memories and to live in the moment. Sharing every second of the day with my very best friend, knowing that God will richly bless us with a loving family and future together,” says Estelle of their future together.
Lian Anderson and Daniella Terblanche
Lian and Daniella met when Daniella moved to a new complex and her neighbour at the time invited Lian to join in the complex braai.
Lian’s smile and how well-mannered he is, as well as his willingness to help others drew her attention, while her laugh, curly hair, dimples and glasses made him sit up and take notice.
“When Lian puts his mind to something, he works hard and is dedicated to achieve his goal. Even in our toughest times he has always been there,” says Daniella. ”Her ability to make me feel better in tough times and how she treats people with respect are Daniella’s most attractive qualities. Most of all I love how close she is with family, because family plays a big role in my life,” says Lian.
“Imagining our life as Mr and Mrs Anderson makes the excitement rush over me. I know life might not always be smooth sailing, but as long as he is my captain, his skilful sailing will navigate us through the roughest seas,” says Daniella when asked about their future together.
Wouter Cronjé and Izel Bezuidenhout
This couple met at a friend’s birthday party, but spent time getting to know each other as friends first before they had their first official date at a local game lodge. This is also where they plan to have their Bushveld wedding.
Izel says Wouter was the most attractive man she had ever seen and he won her over with his eloquent ways. “I could just immediately hear that he was a such a polite; kind hearted amazing man with a pure heart. “Izel’s beauty, fun-loving nature, love for animals and energy was what attracted Wouter. Both partners say their beloveds’ caring nature is their best quality.
Izel is a vet and the couple’s biggest dream is to one day open their own veterinary clinic with a rehabilitation centre for endangered animals and wildlife. “We would like to help all the sick and deserted animals as far as possible and provide a service for less fortunate people who want to own animals, but who cannot afford the medical costs,” explains Izel.
Robert Marriott and Aileen Buitendag
“After a matchmaking effort from my father and Robert’s boss on their way to Pretoria, they could not believe we took that long to actually meet. We chatted for about a month before we had the guts to meet and from the start we were meant to be together,” says Aileen when asked how she met her would-be husband.
He says the sight of her at their first meeting made his heart skip a beat and his gentle nature and warm smile was what made her look twice.
“Robert’s patience and his kind heart shows through his work that you can see he has a very big passion for. He immediately accepted my little girl and gave her the comfort and love that warms a mother’s heart,” says Aileen.
“Aileen is a source of inspiration. She is kind, humble, and hard-working and the most important to me about her is her unconditional love. These values are strong foundations of my life,” Robert describes his fiancée.
The couple sees their future together fused with God in His commitment and love, an unbreakable bond.
Marnus Delport and Izelle van der Merwe
The couple met in a restaurant through shared friends where Izelle’s blue eyes and blonde hair and Marnus’ spontaneity and enthusiasm for life assured a mutual attraction.
Marnus, a farmer, has a jovial personality that Izelle, a teacher, believes is his best quality, while he believes her love for children is very special.
Their dream wedding would be on a warm summer’s night with plenty of candles and flowers. They also envision excellent music and great food to create a night to remember in the company of their closest friends and family.
“We see a future together where we are best friends who support and trust each other completely. We will make God the corner stone of our marriage and home and rely on each other in everything we do. We want to have a lot of fun together, travel as much as possible and see the world,” says Izelle when asked about the couple’s dreams for the future.
“We want a future filled with respect, love and Christian values. Our hope is to open the door of the future with the keys of hope, thankfulness and joy.”
