The LIM 345, LIM 368 and LIM 476 Municipalities that were established after the 2016 local government elections during August last year, were finally named Collins Chabane, Modimolle-Mookgophong and Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipalities. In a notice in an Extraordinary Provincial Gazette that was published on 10 November, MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (Coghsta) Jerry Ndou announced that the name changes will be with immediate effect. The seat of Collins Chabane Municipality is in Malamulele, while Modimolle-Mookgophong and Fetakgomo Tubatse Municipalities are situated in Modimolle and Burgersfort, respectively.
Spokesperson for Coghsta, Paena Galane confirmed the name changes.
