Five people killed outside Lephalale in two-vehicle collision
The accident occurred along the road from Lephalale to Groblersbrug on Sunday afternoon
LIMPOPO – The police are investigating the death of five people during a two-vehicle collision which occurred around 33km outside of Lephalale this afternoon (Sunday).
According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that the driver of a Toyota Pajero lost control of the vehicle due to tyre burst. The vehicle rolled several times and collided with the second vehicle.
Three passengers, all Botswana nationals, from the Toyota Pajero died instantly and two were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Both occupants from the second vehicle died instantly.
The exact cause of this collision will form part of an ongoing police investigation.
The identities of the deceased will be revealed at a later stage.
