Limpopo has fewer December road fatalities than last year

Limpopo traffic authorities indicate that the number of road deaths is lower compared to the same period in 2016.

LIMPOPO – Spokesperson of the Department of Transport, Matome Moremi, says according to the preliminary report at the same time in 2016, there were 206 road deaths compared to 151 in 2017.

Accident report from 1-31 December 2017 is as follows:
Capricorn: 96 accidents and 53 fatalities
Mopani: 92 accidents and  22 fatalities
Sekhukhune: 38 accidents and  27 fatalities
Vhembe: 47 accidents and 24 fatalities
Waterberg: 61 accidents and 25 fatalities

Total number of accidents 2016: 371
Total number of fatalities 2016:206
Total number of accidents 2017: 334
Total number of fatalities 2017: 151

The fatalities include 49 drivers, 56 passengers and 45 pedestrians and 1 motorcycle.
