LIMPOPO – Police in Tzaneen have made a major breakthrough after two suspects aged 32 and 53-years-old were arrested during an intensive manhunt, in connection with the murder of businessman, Salim Vali Patel and his assistant.
According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngope, the first suspect was arrested on Friday 5 January and the second suspect was arrested on Sunday, 7 January.
Patel and Baloyi’s lifeless bodies were found on 28 December 2017 with signs of brutal assault in the bushes between Morudjie and Mavele villages, outside Tzaneen.

Ngoepe says the two suspects will appear before the Nkoankoa Magistrate Court, outside Tzaneen, soon on two counts of murder and carjacking.
Provincial Commissioner, Lt. General Nneke Ledwaba has commended the Tzaneen cluster team for a job well done, especially for cracking such a complex case within a short space of time.
