Thirty-five children in the care of Abraham Kriel Children’s Home in Modimolle were treated to a day filled with fun rides that ended with scrumptious pizza as the guests of Mall of the North (MoN) management, Panarotti’s MoN and Game MoN recently.
Mari Delport, MoN Marketing Manager, said the mall gives the children’s home as much support as possible throughout the year. “It is wonderful to be able to do something for the children that puts a smile on their faces. We also wanted the children’s caregivers to be included in the treat,” she explained.
Also on board were Panarotti’s and Game. Panarotti’s treated everyone to pizza while Game supplied the soft drinks.
Speaking on behalf of the children’s home, Kotie Joubert, Senior Child Caregiver, said the children were very excited about what the day had in store for them. She thanked everyone involved in making the day possible.
Children are placed in the children’s home by means of a court order as a result of child abuse, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, lack of parental skills, family violence and other factors that might endanger their lives. “The children really blossom once they feel safe and treats like this go a long way to making them whole again,” Joubert concluded.
