37-year-old man shot dead in Magna Via, Polokwane

The motive behind the incident is still unknown but police investigations continue.

POLOKWANE – Police have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects involved in the murder of a Bart Smith aged (37) man on Saturday night, 27 January.

According to police spokesperson Constable Maphure Manamela, at around 22:30 on Saturday night, the deceased and his friend were driving in a silver Dodge in the Magna Via area of Polokwane when a white Toyota LDV blocked their way, from the front,  and a silver VW GTi, from behind.

“Further investigations revealed that the deceased got out of the vehicle but was shot by one of the suspects and died instantly,” Manamela added. 

Police appeal to anyone with information which might assist in the arrest of the suspects, to contact the investigating officer Sergent Moloko Mabitsela on 0732075252, the police emergency number on 08600 10111, the sms crime line on 32211 or the nearest police station.
