Suspect nabbed during dagga bust in Thohoyandou

The police have arrested a 35-year-old man for dealing in dagga on Tuesday afternoon in Thohoyandou CBD, confirmed the police on Thursday (1 February 2018).

LIMPOPO – Thohoyandou cluster commander, Lt. Col. Mashudu Malelo, says the police received a tip about dagga being delivered around Thohoyandou CBD area. The officers reacted swiftly and managed to arrest the suspect while he was en route to deliver dagga to his clients.

During the arrest 22 plastic bags of dagga weighing 6325,1g were confiscated and the suspect’s vehicle impounded.

The suspect is due to appear before Thohoyandou Magistrates court soon.

The Cluster Commander Major General Rosina Mulaudzi applauds the community members for providing the police with  information which led to the arrest of the suspect and further  commended SAPS members on their commitment in ensuring a drug free environment.
