PHALABORWA: Beheaded woman found by family, two men in questioning

The woman was found in the early hours of Monday morning in her room in the Matiko Xikaya village, Lulekani.

LIMPOPO – Police in Lulekani, outside Phalaborwa, have launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) involved in the brutal killing of a middle aged woman in the early hours of this morning, 26 February.

According to police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased was found by her family, without a head, in her sleeping room at Matiko Xikaya village.

“Police reacted swiftly and began with their initial investigations which led to the deceased’s two younger brothers taken in for questioning,” Ngoepe explained.

Ngoepe added that while the motive for the killing is unknown, ritual related killing may not be ruled out.

Police investigations continue.
