St Alban’s College captivate shoppers

St Alban’s College Band entertained shoppers and guests at Mall of the North with an exciting programme during the final leg of their Cultural Road Show at the Mall on Friday.
The band stole the hearts and admiration of shoppers with the marimba dance, drum performances and solo saxophone performances.
There was also a light hearted entertainment with rhythmic and choreographed movement performed in gumboot attire by the choir.
Nico du Plessis, Director of activities at the college said the purpose of the show was to connect with people in the province and create awareness about the band and the school.

“Music plays a part in every boy’s life at St Alban’s College, be it for hymn practice or singing in Chapel, war cries, energetic renditions of the school song or performing in our world class auditorium. Music adds traditional, creative, social and personal value to life in general. With the show we also wanted to create opportunities for the band to perform in a small group and to cater for different tastes. We enjoyed performing to the people of Polokwane and we are hoping for more performances in the city,” Du Plessis said.
Mari Delport, Marketing Manager for Mall of the North said it was good to host St Alban’s College and they were pleased to see them entertain their shoppers. “They excited our shoppers with their performances and it was a good show,” Delport said.
