Capricorn students surprise headmaster on birthday

Lucas Chuene, Headmaster of Capricorn High School was overjoyed by the kindness of his students who surprised him with a 51st birthday party at the school recently.
Speaking on behalf of the learners, Tlou Dinyake, a Grade 12 learner, said they saw it fit to organise a birthday party for their headmaster. “He is a caring headmaster who disciplines learners with love and cares about everyone. He is a great leader and he connects well with the students. With this gesture we just wanted to say thanks to him for guiding us in the right direction,” Tlou said.
Chuene received a pack of socks, ties, a clock, an hourglass, a portrait and a massive birthday card signed with well wishes by all learners at the school.
In his short speech, Chuene said the surprise party put a huge and rare smile on his face. “I feel excited and emotional. I never thought that these learners love me so much. The gifts were also nice, but the portrait given to me and drawn by one the learners really touched me. I want to thank them for their effort and for celebrating the day with me,” Chuene said.
