[TAKE NOTE] The R81 has been blocked off by protestors again

Protestors in Mooketsi blocked the same road yesterday.

POLOKWANE – Spokesperson for the Department, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala says motorists are yet again advised to use alternative routes if traveling from Mooketsi to Polokwane.

This follows the second day of protests in the area.

“Motorists can use the R71 instead if you are traveling from Giyani or Duiwelskloof to Polokwane and vice versa,” he said.

Moremi-Taueatsoala says it is likely that the protest will carry on the whole day but says that police are currently on scene.

He also added that protestors took the keys of a fuel tanker and it is now blocking the road.

The reason for the protest is still unknown.
