There was action galore on the pitch when Laerskool Piet Hugo hosted the u.11 and u.13 teams of Northern Academy Primary School during Limpopo Primary School Football Association League matches last Thursday.
Northern Academy was victorious on the day with the u.11 beating Piet Hugo 2-0 while the u.13 walloped their hosts 6-0.
According to Northern Academy soccer coach Charles Kgatle, the two schools played well but Piet Hugo failed to convert their chances. He added that this was their first match of the league and he was confident that they would win the trophy at the end. He stated that Northern Academy was still playing in the first leg of the league due to having postpone their matches while Piet Hugo was already playing the second leg.
Piet Hugo sport coordinator Kevin Smith explained that the league was divided into two groups being A and B with the top three finishers in each group will compete at the end to determine the overall winner. He added that at least 18 schools were participating in the tournament.
