Athletes and various sports teams from PEPPS Preparatory School and College put the school on the map after claiming top positions in different tournaments while other athletes secured spots in provincial and national teams.
The u.11 netball team won six out of seven matches to lift the trophy during the PEPPS u.11 soccer and netball tournament that was held recently while the u.10 netball team won the Pietersburg English Medium Primary School (Pemps) u.10 tourney after winning all their matches. The u.10 soccer team also participated in the Pemps tournament and won bronze.
Talented PEPPS singer, Gift Ogwu was elected to the South African team after impressing the judges during the South African Championships of the Performing Arts in Johannesburg recently. The 13-year-old is now through to the World Championships of Performing Arts to be held in Los Angeles from 6 to 15 July.
Gift is in need of sponsors to be able to compete on the international stage as her expenses are close to R80 000.
Damien Groenewald u.12 rugby player received Limpopo colours while u.12 cyclist Zineddine Mengouchi won his category at the Stanford Lake College cross-country mountain bike challenge. Jhon-Ross Donovan was second in the sprog-boys aged 11 to 12. The duo also participated at Bosveld Kunstefees and scooped A+ in samespraak.
The u.13 netball player, Mamohube Mogashoa was selected for the provincial schools netball team that will compete at the South African netball champs in Boksburg from 24 to 28 June. Mamohube was team captain of the u.12 provincial netball team last year.
