Trading dreams for passions
Forex Trading is becoming more and more popular in South Africa and after he was introduced to Forex trading by his students, Maisela Sir Jovial Legadimana decided to quit his job to become a trader.
POLOKWANE – The 24-year-old from Tibanefontein in Ga-Matlala is also a comedian and decided to follow his dream as a Forex trader.
He holds a B.Ed degree in mathematics and science from the University of Limpopo.
Legadimana said his mother was furious when he decided to quit his job and become a Forex trader.

“I still remember my mother was not comfortable when I told her I am leaving teaching to do Forex trading.
“She has changed her mind, however, as she has seen me make a success of the venture and now gives me her full support.”
He said he first heard about Forex trading from two learners at the school where he worked.
“I saw they were coming to school with their own cars and I wanted to know how they managed this. They told me about Forex trading, I befriended them and they taught me how to trade.
“Forex trading basically encompasses buying and selling foreign currency and now I also share my knowledge and experience with others.”
He told BONUS the challenges he has come across during his journey as a trader was losing money to people who promised to teach him how to do Forex trading.
“I have lost about R40 000 paying people who don’t know about Forex. Fortunately, in January I came across a man in Sandton who taught me the technical aspects and fundamentals of Forex trading.
“He taught me how to analyse the market and now I can say I am an entrepreneur bound for success.
“No one is born for poverty; you have a choice to break free from poverty and be the person you aspire to be,” he said.
“Forex trading looked promising so I started doing research and attended many Forex trading seminars to find credible institutions to teach me.
“I made my own mistakes which taught me and nothing could stop me from learning more and trading.”
As for his career as a comedian, he said he fell in love with comedy at a young age but began taking it seriously while at varsity in 2016.
“I used to post jokes on my Facebook status and one of my friends advised me that I could make living out of telling jokes. My first gig was performing at the university during the Mr and Miss Fresher Ball.
“People laughed at my jokes at first but during my performance they started booing me off stage. I did not let that stop me, however, and continue to pursue my dreams as a comedian.”
