Petrol attendant stable after being shot in one of two robberies in Bendor
Two filling stations in the city became victims of armed robbers in the early hours of Wednesday.
POLOKWANE – According to Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, both robberies took place just after 06:00.

“Robbers targeted Shell Bendor and Engen Thornhill. One employee was wounded in a shooting at Shell, but at Engen no shots were fired. The suspect came into the shop, demanding money. He then left with a small amount of cash.”
Shell Manager, Irene Schempers says their staff were busy with shift changes when the incident occurred.
“The robber came in, demanding everyone to stay down on the floor.
“One of our employees, who has been working with us for 17 years, was not fast enough and was shot.
“He is currently in a stable condition in hospital, but his colleagues are shocked. The robber got away with a very small amount of money.”
According to the Manager at Engen, Elsie Roelofsz, one of the cashiers was in the bathroom when the robbery took place.
“One robber demanded that the cashier open the cash register. As he emptied the register, he instructed the cashier to open the next one and lie on the floor. Camera footage shows only one robber, but his friends might have waited elsewhere. At least no one was hurt.”
The two filling stations are situated roughly 1 km apart and according to Ngoepe, they suspect the same culprits were involved in both robberies.
