Capricorn Quilting presented a highly successful Sewing Carnival, the first of its kind, in Polokwane on Saturday.
Participants of the Sewing Carnival could attend five different classes, with experts from Husqvarna, Nicky Selby and Hazel Nienaber imparting their knowledge.
The classes included project, software, machine foot, embroidery and techniques sessions.
Veronica van Graan and Anjoele Knoetze, two of the attendees, said they had learnt a lot during the classes they attended. “I can’t wait to get home to try some of the techniques I’ve learnt,” Van Graan said.
Another attendee, Lebo Ramorapeli, said the classes were well worth the effort. “I look forward to attending more sewing carnivals in the future,” she added.
Ann Nel, owner of Capricorn Quilting said more such events are definitely on the cards and she thanked everyone who played a part in making the day such a huge success. While Capricorn Quilting is a quilter’s haven, they also cater for knitting, crocheting, embroidery and sewing, and also offer various classes.
Nico Nel, manager of Capricorn Quilting invited people to drop in at their store at Platinum Park for a browse. “We are so much more than just a quilting store and would love to share our knowledge,” he concluded.
