This year’s theme was ‘The Economy is a Woman’ and 16 women were finalists, with Lerato Sekgobela, Cate Oliphant and Katryn Celliers emerging as the winners in the Youth Entrepreneurial, Emerging and Established categories, respectively. The runners-up were Livhuwani Nenzhelele, Cynthia Ndou, Kgadi Mushi, Sheena Stander and Mpho Ndou.
Joint winners Molatelo Mashabane and Maria Kanjere, Conny Morgets and Joanah Ngoasheng walked away as winners in the Professional, Corporate and Social categories, respectively.
The runners-up were Ellen Moila, Samba de Oliviera, Prenisha Rajdev and Sandra Jansen van Rensburg.
Renowned businesswoman, co-founder, chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Motsepe Foundation and also founder and chairperson of Africa Fashion International, Precious Moloi-Motsepe, was the guest speaker. Moloi-Motsepe’s message to the women was to celebrate their successes, but not to be complacent.
“We always have to strive to do more and better in order to leave something for the young women that are looking up at us and are following,” she said.
