Boys and girls hockey players representing 11 primary schools from around the city had but one goal in mind during the Capricorn Hockey League at Hoërskool Pietersburg on Saturday and that was to win matches and gain points.
Commitment and dedication characterizes the matches with parents and coaches supporting the teams from the sidelines. The tournament organiser, Adri Lambrechts said all players displayed great skills and sportsmanship and stressed that coaches also played a vital role on the day. In the first league, Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS) beat Mitchell House 2-0, PEPPS walloped Mitchell House 8-0 and Laerskool Pietersburg-Oos beat PCS 5-0.
