The À la Carte show presented by Round Tables Impala 157 and Pietersburg 22 in May brought in R245 000, which was recently handed over to Pathways Polokwane and La Wiida Leersentrum who each received R122 500.
Speaking on behalf of the Pathways Polokwane Enrichment Centre at Mitchell House, headmaster Andrew Cook spoke of the school’s long standing connection to the Round Table clubs of Polokwane as well as the tremendous sense of community experienced. “Year after year we receive the outstanding support of the Round Tablers. We plan to utilise this donation for bursaries to the Enrichment Centre for needy children who would otherwise not be able to attend,” he explained.
At La Wiida Leersentrum, owner Valerie O’Reilly expressed their enormous gratitude for the sizable donation and said the donation would be used towards renovating and extending the premises. “This will enable us to accommodate more children, for which there is a huge need in the city,” she said.
Round Table Impala 157 Chairperson Vos Botha said it was an honour to be able to lend a hand in helping both centres wherever possible. “The work that you do with these children is priceless and our contribution is but a drop in the ocean,” he added.
The next À la Carte show will take place in 2020.
