Josephina Nchabeleng: Small children walk around and they might pick up some of the litter and eat it. We must keep the area clean in order for them not to get sick.
POLOKWANE – The city’s parks are meant to be used by families and friends to relax, but, the litter surrounding the Flora Dam has made this area an eyesore and a danger to young children.
Learners from Northern Academy together with other stakeholders therefore rolled up their sleeves on Saturday morning to clean up the area. Review caught up with these learners to ask them the importance of keeping our parks litter free.
Phasha Moabi: By cleaning up we assist in saving the planet.
Yvette Masemola: The litter ends up in pollution, killing fish and birds in the park.
Karabo Letsoalo: Litter have a bad effect on the environment and this affect everyone.
Given Mmadi: We live in the area and it is supposed to look good. We are supposed to look after the area we live in.
Shi-Ann Nakeng: Life depends on the environment. In order for a healthy living, we need to keep it clean.
Oratile Modibia: The environment must be taken care off. If it looks better it will be better for everyone.
Tshegofatso Motloutsi: There shouldn’t only be specific people cleaning up the city. Everyone is responsible to keep it clean.
Mahutja Rampheri: By cleaning up we save the environment.
