POLOKWANE – An intelligence led joint operation composing of members of the Seshego Tracking Team, Mokopane Crime Intelligence and Crime Prevention have made a major breakthrough after tracing and arresting four highly wanted suspects sought for various crimes.
These include rape, business and residential robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition during sting joint operations conducted in various areas in the province.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the suspects were sought for crimes which were committed around Polokwane, Seshego, Mahwelereng and Mankweng and following a tip-off from the communitythe suspects were caught in their hideouts in different locations outside Polokwane.
A 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Spokpark for common robbery that occurred on 22 September in Mmotong Dairing in the Seshego policing precinct. The suspect allegedly robbed a man of cash and the suspect was also positively linked to another case of business burglary in Seshego and had a warrant of arrest issued against him.
This, after he failed to appear in court for two rape cases which he allegedly committed in the Seshego Policing area.
A 53-year-old man was also arrested for a business robbery incident that occured in Mokopane on 20 March 2017 at a store in town.
“Four suspects allegedly attacked a security officer patrolling the premises. The culprits tied up the victim and broke the main door before fleeing from the scene with cigarettes, airtime vouchers and an undisclosed amount of cash,” Ngoepe explained.
The third suspect arrested is a 38-year-old man who was nabbed for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and was arrested in Mokopane.
“The suspect was linked to two other cases of motor vehicle theft in Polokwane and Mankweng as well as attempted murder in the Matlala policing area.”
Lastly, a 44-year-old man was arrested in Botlokwa, outside Polokwane, after a warrant of arrest was issued against him for a case of possession of an unlicensed firearm which he allegedly committed in March 2017.
“The arrested suspects will still appear before different magistrate courts soon and police investigations in all these cases are still continuing,” he concluded.
