POLOKWANE – Police in Sekgosese, outside Giyani, have launched a manhunt for a suspect following the murder of a woman who was shot and killed in ga-Mamaila village on 27 November 2018.
According to police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased, Maropeni Mutau, was attacked, shot and killed by her boyfriend before he fled the scene.
“Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the suspect is residing near the Ha-thoka mine as well as in Lebowakgomo, outside Polokwane. The motive behind this incident is still unknown at this stage but domestic violence may not be ruled out,” he said.
Police are requesting Silver Kapsene Mokgotho, aka “Morwamokgotho” to go to the Sekgosese Police Station or the nearest police station to assist with investigations into the matter.
“Anyone with information that can assist the police in arresting the suspect involved in this matter to contact Captain Ntlemo at 082 468 8684; the nearest police station; the crime stop number 08600 10111 or the crime line SMS 32211,” he concluded.
