Graduation with an added surprise

Friday was a joyful day for parents and teachers at Happy Kids Christian Pre-school and Crèche at Mankweng Unit C as the children graduated.

POLOKWANE – This was not the only highlight of the day as the school was also received a brand new building by Gabriel Mogashoa better known as Gab Mapiano.

Gab from Polokwane, is known for his work as a master of ceremonies, pianist and a radio presenter.

Gabriel explained that he decided to donate a building to the school as he wanted to give children around Mankweng a safe and secure place to play and learn in.

“I wanted to give kids a good environment because we don’t have convenient places around Turf where there is a Christian set-up. That is one of the things that inspired me as I always wanted to do something for the community,” he added.

He went on to say that he wants a place for children where they are given opportunities to do what they love and grow up to become whatever they want to become.

“We went on to be musicians which was kind of hard as no one really understood that kind of system, so we are trying to create an environment in which kids will grow up and be channelled towards change,” he explained.

Gabriel says this is only the beginning as he aims for bigger and better.

He explained that he had to do this from his own pocket which didn’t worry him because he knew he was doing it for a great cause.

One of the teachers at the school, Salome Mehlape said they were grateful for Gabriel.

She explained that for the past three years of the school’s existence it is only now that someone does something this amazing for them and they will always remember his work.
