The P2 primary schools athletics meeting held at the sport grounds of Hoër Tegniese Skool Tom Naudé last Friday was a demonstration of the talent and potential that exists among the learners of Laerskool Pietersburg Noord Primary (Noordskool), Laerskool Ivy Park, Laerskool Chris Hofmeyr and Laerskool Piet Hugo.
The meeting gave coaches an opportunity to select a formidable team that will represent the schools at the Polokwane Cluster athletics meeting scheduled for today (Thursday) at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Meeting organiser and educator at Noordskool, Sakkie Liebenberg said they were delighted by the efforts made by athletes on the day to impress the selectors. “They gave their all, most of the learners performed well on the day and I think we will come out with a team that will win medals at the cluster meeting,” Liebenberg said.
At the time of going to press the final team had not been announced.
