Loadshedding will only implemented if absolutely necessary, says Eskom

The power utility noted that there is a high risk of rotational load shedding today.

POLOKWANE – A high risk of rotational load shedding is as a result of a shortage of capacity due to the loss of generating units at Eskom’s power stations.

The power utility has encouraged residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly and switch off gysers as well as non-essential lighting and appliances to assist in reducing demand.

Eskom says they will provide regular updates about the state of the power system, should loadshedding be implemented.
