Employees of Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) bid one of their longest serving colkeagues, Tiny Makgohlo farewell last Friday at the municipality’s offices in the city.
Makgohlo, or Sesi Tiny as she was affectionately known by all, joined CDM’s predecessor, the Northern Transvaal Regional Services Council (NTRSC) in March 1995 and served under political leaders Danie Botha, Stan Ramaila, Dewet Monakedi, Laurence Mapoulo, Gilbert Kganyago and finally John Mpe as secretary to more than ten heads of department.
Makgohlo said that the secret of success and good relations in her work was her ability to change herself. “Your manager is your father, husband and friend at work and depends on you to make his life easier and to do his job properly,” Makgohlo said.
Colleague Abram Mothapo, who also joined NTRSC in 1995, said that Makgohlo will be remembered for her positive attitude and said that she was a good mother to all.
Makgato Machaba, CDM Corporate Services Executive Manager, and Makgohlo’s last supervisor, said that she will be missed by all. “It was never necessary to reprimand her, we actually asked her to stay because she is still a valuable asset,” Machaba concluded.
