Unicorn Riders say they are the drivers of education for the youth

POLOKWANE – Boswa Ke Bokamoso foundation from Ga Matlala played their role at ensuring that fellow youth make informed, beneficial decisions regarding their futures through a recent career day.
Ivy Kgoadi, a qualified auditor from Polokwane and part of the organisation, facilitated the career day along with four other qualified guest speakers from various fields and other organisations to engage with Grade 12 learners from various schools (over 9 schools) in Ga-Matlala on Friday, 29 March.
Other organisations included representatives from University of Limpopo, Capricorn Tvet College and Mmaseala Business Academy with guest speakers from various industries including hospitality, education, medicine, media and entertainment and many more.
To help inspire and motivate the learners, each guest speaker was given an opportunity to speak to the learners. Noko Rammutla, a qualified pharmacist and rider from the Unicorn Riders Club in Polokwane, was with three bikers from the club and spoke to the learners about the importance of not giving up in life and working hard to achieve set goals.
The riders told Review that they are drivers of education in the youth, hence their community outreach programs are centered around the youth and education.
Kgoadi said the foundation seeks to ensure that the youth are guided to the right path with information and advise regarding decisions that they need to make such as choosing a career to pursue after completing Grade 12. “This was our first youth engaging event and we plan to host these on a yearly basis. We also plan to host a winter school programme with selected beneficiary Grade 12 learners to ensure that they receive just as much knowledge and drive to perform their best in their studies,” she explained.
One youngster, Cheuene Morare gave feedback to the guests after the event and said that event was eye opening and insightful and will guide them to make well informed decisions regarding their future.
