The ample number of water points along the route of the Mall of the Mall Marathon is one of the factors that contributes towards the popularity of the event.
Local businesses walk the extra mile not only to keep athletes hydrated and energised by providing a range of healthy snacks but also to motivate them and add a fun element to the race.
Two of the major sponsors, Hollywoodbets and Talisman Polokwane shared this year’s trophy for the best water point. While Polokwane Observer is the media sponsor of the event its enthusiastic team of employees and a handful of volunteers was out in full force to man a water point as well.
