BONUS spoke to Kyle Lyle from Westenburg, an entrepreneur who specialises in producing organic skin care products.
“A couple of years ago I decided to embark on a journey to live more natural in the sense of using organic, no manipulated products. From food to cosmetics to clothing, I wanted to be natural in every sense, which was a great influence on my product line which I find cheap and sustainable both for humans and the environment. With my product line I wanted to create something that was natural, honest and local,” he explained.
He gave BONUS readers a few tips and advise on how to ensure a natural glow, as most people during autumn and winter become at war with keeping their natural skin glow; and those include:
1. Cleansing the skin can be achieved by using fresh whole lemons. One can cut open a lemon fruit and slice it into thin slices and then move it over he skin or dab 1 slice of lemon on the skin gently and mildly to remove all impurities and dirt, unclog pores. He says the acidic level in the lemons can be tolerated by the human skin as it is not too harsh.
2. Masking, is great for retain moisture, vitamins and nutrients for the skin. He says Honey is perfect to use as a mask, it has protective defensive, protective minerals. Alternatively plain yogurt can be used as well.
3. Chilled cucumbers can be used to mask the face layered in full coverage all over the face and left for 10-15 minutes, to help cool the face and also help moisturizer.
4. To moisture, Kyle suggested a light texture oil such coconut oil or grape seed oil.
5. To keep the sun from creating damage, sunblock is vital to apply when ever one is going out of house.
He said it is important to have a three-step skin treatment routine: cleanse, tone and moisturise.
