Scoliosis and trauma inspired Reholegile to help others
Influenced by her natural adolescent scoliosis, Reholegile Mehlape from Polokwane is now on a mission to promote healthy eating habits, which she says is the solution to various illnesses.
POLOKWANE – “I was diagnosed with adolescent scoliosis in 2004, but I’ve been living with the condition since I was a little girl. The condition was a result of trauma, endured from two violent physical attacks which included being raped twice. The doctors told me the chances of fixing my spine were very low and I would have to wear a brace,” explained Reholegile.
The qualified IT specialist and nutrition coach says she was then introduced to a nutrition coach by a friend.

“I wore the brace for six years and when I finally went for my checkup, the scans showed my spine was naturally straightening. This shocked both my nutrition coach and orthopedists, who advised to keep to the healthy lifestyle, diet and light exercises,” she added.
Reholegile says she was then inspired and therefore started a organisation called Naabusara, which aims to promote healthier lifestyles and in turn increase the lifespan of life.
The company is based in Polokwane, but is now branching out to other cities in and out of the province.
“I have helped 17 people thus far which proves that diet plays a major role in our lives. Our aim is to ensure South Africa’s death rate goes down, as most of the deaths that occur are related to ill health,” she concluded.
She is studying towards a certified sports nutrition diploma qualification. This which will get her registered with the World Board of Nutrition and assist her to reach her goal to save the nation, through good nutrition.
