Health MEC sends condolences to families of nurses killed in Mokopane accident
The two nurses were killed in a head-on collision that happened on the R518 outside Mokopane, Friday night
MOKOPANE – MEC of Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba has expressed sadness over the news of the death of two professional nurses from the Mogalakwena area.
The nurses were attached to Mokopane Hospital and Thabaleshoba Community Health Care Centre respectively.

“The death of one health care worker under any circumstance is one too many. We are truly saddened about this tragic loss and send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the two health institution that they were working for and the entire health sector for such a loss,” said Dr Ramathuba in a statement released by the department on Sunday.

She added that nurses must be the one providing care for others and their death is such a loss not only to the department but the nation as a whole.

She further reiterated the call for road users to be circumspect on the roads ahead of the Easter Holidays “Easter Holiday is big in our province and our roads are extremely busy during this time. We call on all road users to follow the rules of the road and be very circumspect so that we can be able to preserve lives,” MEC Ramathuba concluded.
