The rainy weather experienced in the city recently could not put a damper on the enthusiasm and energy with which Curro Heuwelkruin and Hoër Tegniese Skool (HTS) Tom Naudé’s rugby teams battled it out in a round of rugby league matches hosted by Curro Heuwelkruin.
The two rivals were also expected to compete in netball but the matches could not proceed due to the weather.
In the u.14 division, the visitors walloped their hosts 40-0 while the u.15s triumphed 21-12. Tom Naudé appeared to be in top form and went on to defeat Heuwelkruin’s u.16 team 39-5. They however succumbed to the host’s first team 0-40.
