Divers currently fixing leaking valves in Ebenezer dam, water supply to be affected

Affected areas include the city, Dalmada, Mankweng, Ga-Mamabolo and other areas

POLOKWANE – Lepelle Northern Water has stopped water supply from the Ebenezer Plant due to leaking valves in the dam.

In a statement released, municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala explains that raw water supply was reduced from the normal 620l/s to 512l/s during the week, which resulted in less water being treated and negatively affecting water supply to the Polokwane Municipality.

“Lepelle Northern Water has just informed the Municipality that divers from the Department of Water and Sanitation are currently fixing the problem in the dam. Affected areas include the city, Dalmada, Mankweng, Ga-Mamabolo, Segwashi, Boyne, Ga-Molepo, Mentz, Badimong, Ga-Thoka and Ga-Mothiba,” he said.

Selala added that the water board estimated it would take about three hours for the situation to be resolved.

“Areas receiving water are urged to use water sparingly,” he concluded.
