Ivy Park learners encouraged to spread the spirit of Ubuntu at home and on the playground
Gr R learners from Laerskool Ivy Park were recently introduced to the notion of Ubuntu and REVIEW asked a few learners their thoughts on what it means to them personally.
Quinton Netshvhangani said, "It means that we all friends and must play together and not make each other cry," he said.
POLOKWANE – Ubuntu can be used to describe humanity, or an act of helping each other top become better versions of ourselves than we already are.
Gr R learners from Laerskool Ivy Park were recently introduced to the notion of Ubuntu and REVIEW asked a few learners their thoughts on what it means to them personally. Here is what some of the learners had to say regarding the notion of ubuntu:
Quinton Netshvhangani said, “It means that we all friends and must play together and not make each other cry,” he said.
Motheo Mathekga said, “Ubuntu means that we must share our food, toys and clothes with our friends so that we can all be happy and play together,” she added.
Mmabocha Raboshakga said that Ubuntu means that we live happily together and not hurt each other. “My teacher said that Ubuntu means that when we play nice with one other and help one another we become friends,” she added.
Tshegofatso Letsoalo said their teacher told them that Ubuntu means that people love one another no matter what and are nice to each other. “When you treat your friends nice and love them and share your sweets and snacks with them, it is called Ubuntu,” she explained.
