Rameez Patel to appear in court in 2020 for mother’s murder case
In the meantime he will appear again in the court on 22 July for an appeal to discharge him of the murder of his wife, Fatima, in 2015
POLOKWANE – Rameez Patel, who stands accused on the murders of both his former wife and his mother, will now only stand trial in the Polokwane High Court for the murder case of his mother, Mahejeen, on 24 March 2020.

The trial would have started on Monday, but was postponed.
Patel also appointed a new lawyer to represent him in his mother’s murder trial.
In the meantime he will appear again in the court on 22 July for an appeal to discharge him of the murder of his wife, Fatima, in 2015, and a panel of three judges will decide upon his discharge.
His application for discharge earlier this year, in January, was dismissed by Judge Joseph Raulinga.
