Trend is the name, and keeping upcoming businesses trending is our game

Technology entrepreneurs, Hlogi Mafolo and Mahlatse Mafolo, are on a mission to give small businesses a helping hand by developing a professional website for them absolutely FREE.

POLOKWANE – The duo says their love for business as well as their passion for community development is what is behind their initiative.

“The reality is that everything is migrating online and businesses without professional websites will miss out on great opportunities for growth and good credibility. We will assist the small upcoming businesses get off to a good start which will enable them to grow with their sector.”

Mahlatse, co-founder of TREND explained that mobile friendly websites for business are fast becoming a necessity and not just a fancy want anymore. “About a decade ago, the yellow pages was the ‘king of searching business directories’ and every budding business wanted in. But that’s all changed now; people everywhere are constantly on their mobile devices looking for business services and products etc.,” he said.

The digital revolution has happened and TREND says the problem facing many small businesses is that they don’t have deep enough pockets to afford website services from expensive design houses even though they really need them. That is where TREND comes in. “We came up with the FREE website idea; to help small businesses get their foot in the door,” Mahlatse added.

TREND is creating 100 000 free websites and is inviting all small businesses and entrepreneurs to take advantage of this grand opportunity and get a free stunning website.

The FREE websites for businesses include a home page; an about us section; a services section; a products section; a gallery or images section; A blog section; A contact page; social media links, and a sub-domain web address. Businesses that wish to upgrade with more content, custom domains and emails can do so at only a small annual fee.

This campaign will also help empower local youths we’ve identified to learn website development skills from TREND.

“We saw that even though small businesses are contributing so much to the economy, no one really appreciates and tries helping small business owners,” said Hlogi, co-founder of TREND.

Therefore TREND is also looking at partnering with local & national media to help us with this outreach, and are offering lucrative sponsorship opportunities to interested private companies to help them assist these SME’s even further with digital marketing and other online services.
